Abstract:

Since entering the information age, people's access to information resources has become more convenient and efficient, which to some extent poses challenges to the information management of university libraries. Currently, there is an urgent need to enhance the management abilities of library staff to support the modernization of library construction and management. Librarians should also consciously improve their professional competence and skill levels, provide more personalized and humanized services, develop lifelong learning habits, improve service quality, and create a favorable learning atmosphere. This article discusses in detail the necessity of improving the professional competence of university librarians in the information age, analyzes the current management situation, and discusses three ways for enhancing professional competence.
